When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7)
Therefore whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 2 Corinthians 5:9 (NLT)
Pleasing the LORD may seem like an impossible task, but it hould be principal ambition of all believing believers the new creation. But how do you please the God, that owns everything? He is the LORD Almighty, Maker and Creator of Heaven and Earth, He is the Eternal Rock of Ages, Our rock and salvation, Our refuge and strength, THE ONE WHO SITS ON THE THRONE OF HOLINESS AND IN THE MULTITUDE OF INFINITE RICHES.
He alone owns everything seen and unseen, the GOD of total and complete sufficiency. What would you give to please the LORD? Pleasing the LORD has its rewards-we are recompensed for our deeds according to what we have done whether good or bad.
The Bible says ‘When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes his enemies to be at peace with him’ (Proverbs 16:7). The Bible in Matthew 3:17 said ‘This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased’. Notice the phrase ‘well pleased’ God must be well pleased with His Son Jesus. And Jesus must have been special and done something extraordinary to please the Father. Perhaps we need to examine the character, compassion, commitment, passion and the heart of Jesus-everything done by him was done with a fully surrendered heart ‘according to God’s purpose and desire’. What God did in Christ is the measure of what He will do in us to make us perfect and enable us walk the walk, talk the talk and please Him. Here are simple prayers we should pray as we desire to excel in our faith walk and please the LORD. May he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Hebrews 13:21 (NLT)
May pleasing the LORD not be short lived in our lives through disobedience and sin that crippled the first Adam from grace, may the LORD cause our heart to be fixed on Him, to sing and give Him praise even with glory. May his word order our steps, continue to illuminate our feet and provide the light for us to walk before Him in the land of the living! Amen
Personal prayer: Dear LORD despite my passion, I sometimes falter because of my personal struggle and imperfection, give me the ability and the grace LORD to carry on and not be discouraged or distracted by trying to live up the expectation of others. LORD I ask from this day that You manifest your strength in me, manifest and magnify your grace in my weakness, cause me to be fruitful, equip me with all that I need to do Your will that I may continue to please You LORD in Jesus’ name! Amen
Therefore whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him 2 Corinthians 5:9 (NLT). Since He has given to us this hope, and has granted to us the earnest of the Spirit; let’s make it our great goal so to live as to be accepted by him. Perhaps our ways will please God if we
  • Chose to have the compassion and passion for the lost – have a set of goals for soul winning and evangelism and a clearly defined strategy for achieving them
  • Spend a lot more time in the vineyard enlarging the coast for God rather than away from the mission of the gospel
  •  If our faith lives up to expectation and the level of commitment God wants from us
  • We are ‘called according to His purpose’.  We need to pray and ask God to give us a better understanding of His vision for our calling to fulfil our God ordained destiny.
  • Ask God to ignite our passion or building the burning passion to rediscover the effectiveness of sharing the gospel-present His gospel of redemption and His love to the world. Presenting the message of Grace, Hope and Love that moves quickly toward a decision for Christ.
  • Understand the ability – the power and enablement, the grace, the skills and the passion to bring the revelation and knowledge of Christ to all nations of the world. We are the revelation of Christ in the church and the world
  • Lay the foundation for a better understanding the gospel, help unbelievers discover Christ, Better still we need to make time to help disciple new converts (babes in Christ), clarify the scripture and help them to build a good foundation for Bible study and provide a condensed biblical focus on key terms and concepts. This is best accomplished by commitment and the love of Christ.
  • Find more time for friends and family Bible study to build and strengthen one another; iron sharpens iron –these are the connections that we have with the outside world.
I ‘ll continue to thank the LORD because I know and can say with confidence that ‘the battle is the LORD’S because the scripture says “For the LORD my GOD is the ONE who goes with me to fight for me against my enemies to give me victory and great peace.” (Deuteronomy 20:4).
