THEY THAT WAIT…SHALL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME

They that wait on the LORD shall not be put to shame. When you are fixated on the LORD the unstoppable forces of heaven are put to work for your sake, your going out and coming in becomes His responsibility, He re-orientates His favour to meet your expectation and He strengthens and embolden you to face challenges as they come because He is God and they that wait on Him shall renew their strength.  It is often hard to wait because most times our  ability are wasted on analysing situations,  building and creating pictures of how rundundant we are instead of seeking His face and waiting on the Lord but remember WAITING fine tunes your spiritual antennas for better reception of things of the spirit, …minimizes the chances of focusing on challenges. Please read Isaiah 55:8-9  –Ivan Ukiwah

Extraordinary things happen when you wait on the LORD. What exactly does the scripture mean by “waiting on the LORD?” Why should one wait on the LORD? Yet the Bible said in Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isa. 40:31)

The compact Oxford Thesaurus described the following as waiting –to stay put, to remain, to linger on or delay, to bide your time or to mark time. Isn’t this wonderful? Waiting is a ‘simple’ but not so simple ‘mind-numbing’ promising word and action that is entirely within the reach of every child of God. Perhaps you probably have seen or heard people waffle on or gabble about their problems because of the absence of one blessing or another resulting in adverse situations in their lives. However, we hardly see or notice people do the same about waiting when their situation teeter between the extremes of life and death despite the fact that everything we desire or hope for hinges on waiting. Psalm 62:1 further illustrates the meaning when the Psalmist said “Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from Him cometh my salvation” Here the word refers to the quintessential (ideal) or inertia state of full dependency and expectation from the Divine God. Waiting or “staying put or remaining” is a service to the Divine, it is the offering of an infallible service with an infallible obedience to a dependable God in return for something extraordinary, super ordinary and supernatural. In a nut shell it’s the persevering, untiring conscientious attitude of expectation, readiness and extreme obedience.

You probably are familiar to Psalm 121:1 which says “I WILL lift up mine eyes unto the hill from whence cometh my help” The act of ‘Lifting up’ have the same effect as waiting because both activities induce a feeling of dependency and expectation. Note the following about waiting

  • Waiting reinforces your dependence and provides a distinct expectation in a misty cloudy situation. Esther made a decision to wait on God for three days after she received Mordecai’ s message and she received Divine favour
  • Waiting keeps you alert, strong-willed and unflinching when facing challenges, troubles and anguish
  • Waiting takes you to a higher territory of greater glory-when you are waiting on God for something extraordinary,  you delve deeper into the matter like the Eagles goes so high that he is lost to sight in the upper heights. Waiting takes you away from the carnal, physical challenges of your circumstances and fine tunes your spiritual antennas for better reception of things of the spirit. Waiting minimizes the chances of focusing on challenges and maximizes your communication and relationship with God. No wonder we are compared with the eagle. The eagle is trusted to do great things, climb and navigate mountains on their way and travel different heights and depths in different climatic conditions.
  • Waiting keeps all your spiritual senses alive and heightened (enhanced, strengthened and deepened) Remember how Jesus fasted forty day and forty nights in preparation for his ministry and mission
  • Waiting is a valuable tool to cause desired changes when faced with back-breaking, hard and tough challenges:  Waiting is certainly worth doing because it’s profitable and the end result fruitful
  • Waiting re-crystallizes and emboldens your dreams when others are walking around in a haze of confusion. Remember Paul and Silas in the battlefield of the Jail House beaten and battered, they prayed, they sang because they were full of expectation these headstrong duo kept their faith despite the odds against them. Yet they received Divine visitation.
  • Waiting revitalizes, refreshes and enliven.  Remember there is fullness of strength in waiting; it is quintessential to note that strength is renewed and replenished.
  • Waiting is submission of self to God’s will and might not self will and self strength.  Remember in the light of new creation you are spiritually privilege and empowered to cause changes, even when there is much affliction, unthinable hardship and unruly storms.  Remember true faith not only believes but acts. Allowing situation or circumstances to backbench and dictate how you live your life is totally unacceptable and unthinkable, rise up and remember you are empowered to cause changes that will calm the storm. Dear friend, I am believing with you as you take the step of faith to make the decision to wait on him who hath called us to his marvellous light. Remember  You can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. God bless You. Amen
